Regular Season Round 5: Vlci Zdar - Snakes Ostrava 82-116

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Snakes (5-5) outscored on the road bottom-ranked Vlci Zdar (0-10) 116-82 on Saturday. Snakes Ostrava forced 29 Vlci Zdar turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Lukas Smazak (188-2007) who scored 60 points (!!!), 8 assists and 7 steals. Guard Matyas Vitek (190-2007) chipped in 23 points. Jakub Jaros produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Frantisek Beran added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Vlci Zdar players scored in double figures. Snakes Ostrava maintains fourth place with 5-5 record, which they share with NH Ostrava and Tygri Praha. Newly promoted Vlci Zdar still closes the standings with ten games lost. They share the position with Usti nad Labem. Snakes Ostrava will meet at home higher ranked Pardubice (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vlci Zdar will play against Basket Brno (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
